Selling hotel products to guests already in the room
Amenity asks and impulse shop items often mean another desk trip. Put a Shop tile in Avant on the guest’s phone so in-stay product requests reach staff in Porte — without inventing a payment stack.
A guest wants spare slippers, a branded tote, or a local product you already sell at the desk. They walk down, wait in a short queue, or give up. Minibar top-ups and amenity packs sit in a paper list nobody updates. Impulse sales that should happen in the room become missed trips to reception — or never happen at all.
That is not a merchandising failure alone. It is a channel failure. When the only path to buy something the hotel already stocks is a desk visit or a phone call, routine product asks compete with check-ins and complaints that truly need a person at the counter.
Put a Shop tile in Avant on the guest’s phone. One room QR opens the stay guide; guests browse hotel products you choose to list — amenities, merch, minibar top-ups, local goods you sell — and send a request from the room. Staff see that ask on the Porte Requests board, same shared list as room service and other guest needs, so the desk and floor teams work one pipeline instead of sticky notes and “someone will bring it up later.”
You are not claiming card checkout in the app. The guest requests; your team fulfils and settles the way you already do — room charge, desk payment, or whatever your ops allow. You keep the catalogue current in the CMS; every QR reflects the same source. Guests use the phone they already carry. The desk stays free for hospitality that cannot wait on a screen.
